Una tripulación de British Airways en Río de Janeiro ha sido acusada de inventar un atraco a mano armada para ocultar una noche de drogas y alcohol.

El británico BT, lastrado por un escándalo contable en su operadora italiana

El operador telefónico británico BT perdía este martes cerca de una quinta parte de su valor en la bolsa de Londres, a causa de un escándalo contable en Italia que se revela más importante de lo anunciado. En octubre pasado, la antigua compañía conocida como British Telecom abrió una investigación interna en su filial italiana por unas prácticas en que se habían hinchado artificialmente las cuentas durante años a través de un proveedor hasta que fue denunciado desde dentro. La compañía suspendió a los cuadros dirigentes y en febrero tomará posesión del cargo un nuevo director general.

Pero la carga por la depreciación en BT de su actividad italiana se eleva ahora a los 615 millones de euros, unas cuatro veces más de lo admitido anteriormente. A parte de ello, esta filial solo contribuye en un uno por ciento a los beneficios del grupo. Por otra parte, la compañía avanza una importante rebaja en sus beneficios para 2017 y 2018 por un deterioro de sus actividades para empresas públicas.

Gulf oil spill An ecological disaster

Analysts say the oil leak is a severe threat to sea life in the Gulf of Mexico, and could damage the fragile ecosystem.

The Gulf of Mexico coastal area is one of the world's richest seafood suppliers, providing shrimp and oysters for a very wide market. About 70 percent of the shrimp consumed in the US is caught there. It's an industry worth over 400 million US dollars. With the start of the shrimp season, the spill is likely to cause severe damage to the industry.

Fishermen, in the region have filed a lawsuit against oil giant British Petroleum. Another concern, is that over 40 percent of the everglades in the US are located nearby. The Gulf is also an important stop for migrating birds. Analysts, say tides and winds could PUSH the oil deep into the marsh.

A popular Peruvian rock group in the late 60's and early 70's, Traffic Sound had a very British-influenced early progressive rock sound along the lines of Traffic and (more distantly) Jethro Tull.These similarities were evident in the band's use of flute and saxes, all played by Jean Pierre Magnet, who could also play vibes and percussion.What is surprising is that Traffic Sound, unlike other South American groups of the period that only came to light in the Northern Hemisphere in the 90's, do not sound exotic or primitive. They simply sound like an accomplished minor-league 1970 rock band with considerable progressive, psychedelic, and soul influences informing their original material. Iban tan bajo que no los vió el radar del Sea Dart, sino hasta los 19kms. aprox. Pero además de eso tuvieron suerte u ocurrió un milagro, no se puede saber. Los ingleses habían dispuesto esas dos naves como una provocación, muy expuestas, pero en realidad se trataba de una trampa mortal. El destructor HMS Coventry y la Fragata HMS Broadsword estaban equipados cada un con misiles Sea Wolf y Sea Dart, Sea Cat, lo que elevaba las posibilidades de derrivo casi al 90%.
Pero a veces las cosas fallan o no sé que pasa. Estos tipos siguieron a pesar de eso, para usar las palabras del propio Comodoro Carballo, "PARA ADELANTE Y CON FE." Y las más sofisiticadas armas del mundo terminaron siendo fierros viejos.

In new a group of Indian archeologists found a group of skeletons dating back to the Indus Valley Civilisation. Thought to be one of the earliest civilizations, the Indus Valley Civilisation emerged over 5000 years ago and was located in Pakistan, India, and part of Afghanistan. The skeletons appear to be the remains of a family of three. The team that discovered the skeletons had been working at the site since new. It is believed that the remains will provide insights into early human life and development. Along with the remains, toys and figures were discovered among the remains. Archeologists believe that the placement of the object might mean that the ancient civilization believed in reincarnation.\r

Sanchi is the oldest stone structure in India. It was a central location for Buddhist India for several centuries. After Buddhist lost the prevalence that it once had in India, the temple was abandoned. However, it was rediscovered in 1881 by a British soldier. The structure was made by the order of the emperor Ashoka the Great around the 3rd century BC. Although commissioned by the Emperor, his wife Devi ually oversaw the construction. Kothar was discovered in 1982. It is located in Madhya (Ma-dja) Pradesh, Central India. This Buddhist temple is also known for its stupas or dome-shaped structures. The government of India named the location a monument of national importance in 1988 and it has since been preserved by the Archeological Survey of India. The location has since been ongoingly excavated due to its importance to the Buddhist religion. The existence of certain relics, such as toys, jewelry, and coins, hint that this was once an important trade location in ancient India. The location also contained old rock paintings that shed light on the life and technology of past people. \r

A lake in Roopkund, India gained popularity in 1942 when it was discovered that the lake had a startlingly large amount of human skeletons. The lake itself is almost full of skeletons and the area around the lake is piled with them too, the bones ually measure up to 200 human remains in total. The DNA of the bones have been tested and they found a wide array of origins, from locals of the area to people that came from distant places. DNA also revealed that the remains date back to around 850 AD. The cause of death of the skeletons is said to be a large round object, as opposed to any kind of blunt force trauma. Theories still rage and the ensuing popularity of the site raises a conservation problem. Tourists to the site have been stealing the bones at an alarming rate and archeologists want to keep the site int for further research. \r

The city dates back to 3700 BCE. The city was rediscovered in 1954. The dock located in the city is the earliest dock in history. Evidence of trade exists as far as West Asia and Africa. The technology that they used the in the city remained prevalent for over 4000 years. There are remains located on the site that hint at the early stages of navigation and star charting, long believed to be invented by the ancient Greeks. The houses and the buildings also appeared to have an advanced drainage system and contained the earliest bathrooms. The city is regarded to be the most technologically advanced cities in ancient times.
